The City of Fairmount provides a place for city and non-city residents to dispose of their trash and to recycle cardboard and plastic. The compactor is open Monday and Friday from 1:00PM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
City Residents as of January 1st 2019, may dispose of up to 6 30-gallon bags a week free, and Non-residents will be $1.25 for a 30-gallon bag.
Current recycling consists of cardboard (must be broken down) and plastic. (should be rinsed out). Sorry, at this time we cannot accept glass. There is no charge for recycling.
